At the end of season Team Presentation Evening, awards were given to each of the Reserve Team Squad for their success in gaining promotion as runners-up in Devon & Exeter Division 3. Medals, collected from the League were presented in recognition of the achievement.

As far as the Reserve Team is concerned players had voted for Matt Hodgson as their choice of this season's Players Player, Managers Ray Hodgson and Rob Coleman had voted Neil Cleave as their Managers Player and Ray Hodgson awarded a Special Achievement Award to Matt Brace for his tally of 31 league and cup goals.

Ray made special mention of all the off the pitch support the Reserves received during the season from Pete and Dave Cleave who presented a great playing surface often in difficult conditions, Roy, Bernard, Ivy and Co who have faithfully prepared and tidied up for home games, to Cilla Diment for her considerable contribution as secretary and raising over £150 in draws after games, to those squad members who have not played as many full games as several others but without whom the team would not have succeeded, and to parents, friends and others who have faithfully attended so many home and away games during the good cup run and the exciting end to the season when so many games were away from Sandy Lane.

Sponsors wanted

Like many local Teams, the cost of operations is relatively high if sponsorship is not available. Players contribute towards overall costs but there are always the matters of kit cleaning, training costs, equipment, travel expenses, referees, and registration fees.

Sponsoring local Teams can be very cost effective and provides opportunity for advertisement in the local area and amongst the players and families who make up the Team.

The Team particularly wants to encourage sponsorship in kind if paying out money is not an option. For example, our kit cleaning bill is over £300 this season for the Reserves alone. Anybody interested in taking in the kit weekly for washing and drying would be a real benefit to the Team.

Another area for sponsorship is the provision of equipment for training. We can buy balls etc in bulk at very reasonable costs and individuals who want to sponsor single items of such equipment will find opportunity to do so at modest outlay.

Opportunities to recognise sponsors will be taken wherever individuals agree to the Team doing that.
