Training for the Under 18s
During the closed Season a lot has been happening at Dawlish Town AFC, part of which is the re-structuring of the Youth teams. For the new season Dawlish Town AFC will have 2 new Youth sides, one being an under 18s side playing midweek, the second being an under 16s side playing in the First Division of the under 16a Pioneer League. A new Management Structure has been put into place with new Managers and Coaches, hopefully with both teams supplying future players for the Senior and Reserve teams.

The under 18s squad had a one half run out against Topsham Town in a friendly at Sandy Lane to let the management team see them for the first time in a game situation. Although they lost 2-0, the Management team were very happy with what they saw.
“This was the first time we saw the ever growing squad together,” said football developement officer John Bennett, “We had three new players who we had never had before, but they will fit in with what we have planned. We have several games lined up for the new year when the squad will really come into their own. Some of the under 18 squad are already playing for other teams within Dawlish and teams in the Devon & Exeter League which shows how strong they are. This season some will hopefully knocking on the door of the first team at Dawlish.”
